The matelso platform offers extensive options for collecting and storing relevant data and information about website visitors, their behavior, and their actions in a structured manner. In many use cases, however, there is a desire to not only use this data within the platform, but also to transfer it to third-party systems—for example, to CRM systems for contact management, analysis systems for campaign optimization, or even to simple spreadsheet solutions such as Excel or Google Sheets.
With the Data Distributor, the matelso platform provides precisely this functionality: data can be sent to external systems, retrieved from them, or used for specific events, such as sending emails.
This article uses a practical example to show how you can transfer the contact ad name (first and last name) and the order value (user-defined cData field in conversations) to a Google Sheets document.
Detailed step-by-step instructions can be found below. In addition, a video with all the details is available:
Step 1: Open Data Distributor Configuration
To set up data transfer from the matelso platform, we first create a new Data Distributor configuration.
To do this, navigate via the menu path:
Configurations → Data Distributor
There you will find an overview of existing configurations and can create new ones.

Step 2: Define names, triggers, and events
First, assign a meaningful name to your configuration.
Then select:
Trigger
The entity that triggers the process—e.g., a conversation, an incoming call, a contact, and much more.
Event
The specific action that must be performed on the trigger for the configuration to take effect—such as completing a conversation or creating or updating a contact.

Step 3: Configure HTTP push
For this example, we will use an HTTP push with the POST method.
Enter the protocol, host, and path of the target system.
Next, define the HTTP body containing the desired data—in this case, the contact ad name and order value.

Step 4: Check the configuration
Navigate through the remaining steps using Next until the summary appears.
Check all the information again before saving the configuration.

Result
Once the configuration is active, the contact’s display name and order value are automatically sent to the stored Google Sheet document after each completed conversation.
If you would like to learn how to allow the configuration to be executed only under certain conditions, please read the article: Here
In this example, Google Sheets serves merely as a placeholder for any third-party system. In principle, you can send data to any system that provides a corresponding API endpoint.
